Falcon 20 F retrofit Fuel System Flashcards
What is the maximum fuel imbalance allowed?
There is no fuel imbalance limitation.
How can the pilot correct a few system imbalance?
Crossed or interconnect method
How is fuel cross fed in the Falcon 20?
Cross feed switch on and turn boost pump on the low side.
How is fuel transferred using the interconnect system?
Interconnect switch open, then transfer pump on the high side off.
What is the purpose of the of the transfer pump?
It moves fuel from the wing tank to the feeder tank at the rate of 3500 PPH.
What is the purpose of the boost pump?
It moves the fuel from the feeder tank to the engine.
Can the Falcon 20 continue flight with all the fuel pumps turned off or not functioning?
Yes. The wings tanks are pressurized and differential pressure between the wing tanks and feeder tanks keeps a flow of fuel going to the feeder tanks.
What will cause the XFER 1 or XFER 2 lights to illuminate?
Pressure below 4 PSI.
What will cause pressure to drop below 4 PSI?
Transfer pump failure or a leak
If a leak is the reason that the XFER light is on where would the leak be?
Between the wing tank and the feeder tank.
If a pump failure is the reason for the XFER light to be on what would happen to the transfer rate?
It would be reduced to 1000 PPH.
How could a fuel leak be isolated?
Manual fuel shut off valve closed.
What will cause the fuel PR1 or the fuel PR2 light to be illuminated?
Fuel pressure below 5.5 psi.
What would cause fuel pressure to drop below 5.5psi?
Boost pump failure or leak
If a leak is the reason for the FUEL PR light to be on, where would the leak be?
How could the leak be isolated/stopped?
Between the feeder tank and the engine.
Shut off the firewall fuel shut off valve.
