What is failure to function adequately?
Individuals are abnormal when their behaviour suggests they cannot cope with everyday life. Causing distress leading to dysfunction.
What is an example of failure to function adequatley?
Schizophrenia when a person can have disturbing hallucinations which leads to bizarre behaviour. They experience distress and can be irrational and unpredicatble.

Displaying behaviour that cannot be explained in a rational way
