Factors Which Influence Voting Behaviour Flashcards

Q

Media

A
  • Change vote based on media outlet * Sun changed from Labour to Tory (2010). 5.1% changed their vote but 13.5% of Sun voters did.
  • Since television channels are not allowed to be politically biased, their influence is limited. However, television can still influence voting behaviour. For example, in 2015, over 2.5 million people watched the first date and a Panelbase survey found that more than a third of voters were influenced by it.
