Q

Facing a raise at <13bb

You should be “All in or fold” except….when?

How should you play then?

A

You should be all in or fold except when in the BB and you are closing the action.

You should defend the BB the same as at 13-25BB

Q

Facing a raise at <13BB

As stack sizes decrease, what improves?

Always be on the lookout for…?

But beware…?

A

As stack sizes decrease, your odds increase due to the antes & blinds being a bigger proportion of your stack.

Always be on the lookout for good odds even if you are “behind”..

…but beware taking this too far. You still want to be tight versus early position raises, for example.

Q

Facing a raise at <13bb

When facing an early raiser, what are not good hands to call with ?

What might be a better hand?

A

AXo is often dominated vs an EP raise, so is not good to call with.

Suited connectors might be better as they may not be expected by your opponent.

Q

Facing a raise <13bb

What did JL want to especially emphasise?

What three factors should make you call tighter?

A

“Play tight vs an all-in from EP”.

Call tighter for each player yet to act.

Call tighter in tournaments, you want to have an edge…

…and dont forget icm/payout implications may make this tighter still.

When your opponent will fold to aggression…

When is the best time to push?

What error do some players make?

If you get called, remember you may have..

A

The best time to push is when your oppoentns range is the widest and yours is the tightest (in theiry)

Some players raise the same ranges in all positions.

If you get called, remember you may have fairly little equity (as their range will theoretically be strong)
