Fetal growth restriction, chromosome anomalies, infection, diabetes mellitus

What is normal placental thickness at term?
Equal to gestational age in mm in weeks plus or minus 10 mm.

What a evaluation should be performed for placentomegaly?
Anatomical survey by ultrasound, fetal karyotyping, and screening for diabetes mellitus, infections, anemia, placental abruption.
What is the differential diagnosis for a thick placenta? (Separated into heterogeneous and homogeneous echotexture)
Heterogeneous echotexture: molar pregnancy, triploidy, placental hemorrhage, mesenchymal dysplasia.
Homogeneous echotexture: diabetes mellitus, anemia, infection with villitis, aneuploidy
