Introduction
Now I will begin the wider body of work
Text 1 p1

At the start of volume 3 chapter 7, Shelley reinforces Frankenstein’s corrupted desires through the line “I swear to” emphasising his duty to pursue revenge has been cultivated by his own emotions,

this is reinforced through the personal pronoun “I” emphasising that these feelings have been developed due to the deaths of his loved ones. However, it also conveys a sense of irony playing on Frankenstein’s egotistical nature.
Text 2 p1
volume 2 chapter 2
Yet, at the beginning of volume 2 chapter 2 Shelley emphasises that Frankenstein is so blinded by the notion of revenge that he refuses to accept closure when offered to him. This is conveyed through “There can be no community between you and I”

volume 2 chapter 2
The use of antithesis creates a stark contrast between Frankenstein and the creature. Shelley uses this to portray exactly how far down the rabbit hole Frankenstein is when seeking revenge.

At the end of volume 2 chapter 6
Despite, Frankenstein being holding the main themes of desire,
Grimly illustrates a stark parallel. By using action to action shots he conveys the monster’s progression towards greater. Grimly uses an over the shoulder shot to emphasise the creature’s longing as he looks far into the distance alluding to his loneliness.

At the end of volume 2 chapter 6
On the same page, Shelley reinforces this through the line “consumed by a burning passion” Shelley emphasises how the creature’s new found lust for companionship has consumed him, by using the verb ‘consumed’ it creates an animalistic tone to emphasising his inherent desire to not be alone.
Text 3 p1
the portrayal of Frankenstein in his final hours is curated by both Shelley and Grimly to reflect a shattered mind.
Shelley convey’s Frankenstein as desiring his own death. This is emphasised through “the beloved dead flit before me, and I hasten to their arms’, which conveys his longing to be returned to a place before his duty, before his desire for revenge.
Text 3 p2
The personification through the verb ‘flit’ meaning moving swiftly, breathes life into the dead, making them more than just an abstract concept but a real destination that Frankenstein yearns for.
Hence, Frankenstein is left with nothing. Physically bed ridden and mentally filled with the guilt of his unfinished duty, he finally rests, seeking death as an old friend, a gateway to peace.
Conclusion
Therefore, Frankenstein heavily emphasises how greed and desire affects both the mind and body. Emphasising this through heavy bodily imagery portraying a distinct impression on the lessons of greed.
