Alliteration of ‘v’ and the phrase meaning “with mighty force” emphasises Laocoon’s strength as he throws his spear at the horse. (“contorsit” meaning hurled has the same effect)
What’s does “alvum” and “utero” mean and what are their effects?
“Belly” and “Womb”- makes the reader think of the horse as a real animal

The gods and themselves, for not making the right decision

That Laocoon is speaking again
