Proprioception
The ability to sense stimuli arising within the body regarding position, motion, and equilibrium.
Perception
The ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
Kinesthesia
The perception of the movement of one’s own body, its limbs and muscles etc. Sometimes used interchangeably with proprioception.
Executive Function
Management (regulation, control) of cognitive processes, including working memory, reasoning, task flexibility, and problem solving as well as planning and execution.
Judgement
The ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions.
Emotional Lability
A condition of excessive emotional reactions and frequent mood changes.
Confabulation
A memory disturbance. The production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world, without the conscious intention to deceive.
Insight
The capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing.
Perseveration
The repetition of a particular response, such as a word, phrase, or gesture.
Impulsivity
A tendency to act on a whim, displaying behavior characterized by little or no forethought, reflection, or consideration of the consequences.
Apraxia
Difficulty with skilled movements even when a person has the ability and desire to do them.
Agnosia
Inability to interpret sensations and hence to recognize things, typically as a result of brain damage.
