The psychological assistant must notify the BOP within 30 days of acquiring new supervisor.
Can be a psychological assistant for a total of 6 years (72 months).

Expired license must be renewed within 3 years of expiration.
A non-practicing psychologist may request license places on inactive status.
CE requirements: required to obtain 36 hours of CE renewal cycle, average 1.5 CE hours per month.
Inactive license are exempt from CE requirement. However, to reactivate must complete 36 hours continuing education training in law and ethics as well as other mandatory courses for the 2 year period to establish new license only 75% of hours can be “independent learning.”
Courses focusing on business are not counted as CE.
Each renewal cycle required to certify that have taken courses in law and ethics, no minimum number of hours indicated.
Primary creditors include APA, APA sponsorship, continuing medical education courses, CA Psychological Association, continuing medical education.
Upon renewal, psychologists are not required to prove that they have taken 36 CE courses. However, a random audit may occur by BOP requesting proof.
Supervisors must complete a minimum of 6 hours of supervision courses every 2 years. This does not apply to license requirement.

The governor appoints two of the public members n Senate rules committee and speaker of the assembly each appoint one public member.
The governor appoints all of the license numbers.

A maximum of 44 hours per week, including supervision time may be counted toward SPE.

When a minor infraction has occurred, no hard has resulted, the BOP may send letter of warning.
The letter describes the complaint summarises the relevant law and warns that if the situation reoccurs formal action will result.

A minor must be 12 yers of older to consent to outpatient therapy and be deemed to be mature enough to participate intelligibly.

When lawfully treating a minor without parental consent, the minor patient is entitled to full rights of confidentiality and privileges. The minor’s parents are not entitled to a copy of the treatment records without authorisation from the minor.

Voluntary, used when BOP has serious concerns about a licensee or a significant violation occurred, yet there was insufficient grounds to forward case to the attorney general. Licenses is invited to meet with the investigator, expert, of BOP staff to discuss issue of concern in an educational forum.

Must have at least a master’s degree. May provide services under supervision of a licensed psychologist or board-certified psychiatrist.
Both psychologist and psychiatrist can supervise 3 psychological assistants at one time.
