teaching: seek medical attention for dizziness, lightheaded, extreme sleepiness, slowed breathing, unresponsiveness
kayexalate
binds to potassium and pulls it out of the stool for hyperkalemia

potassium supplement
used for hypokalemia

(cardiac protective)
used for hypocalcemia, hypermagnesemia, hyperkalemia
magnesium sulfate

also given for pts with hypomagnesiemia

makes urine more acidic

blood test to see level of hemoglobin (attach to RBC and carry oxygen and keep their shape)
