Externalities Flashcards
What is LCA
life cycle assessment, what externalities are there durring the entire project lifecycle
How do you conduct LCA
Identify inputs and releases, evaluate protential impacts and interpret the results
What are the pros and cons of conducting an LCA
It is costly and time consuming but it can give valuable insight into the sustainability aspects and such
What is the LCI part of the LCA
i stands for inventory and it is the data gathering part
What is a stressor
A factor that contributes to an outcome that may ocurr and becomes more likely the more the stressor is used
What is the LCIA part of the LCA
the life cycle impact assesment part of the LCA is the part when the externalities are translated to tangible human effect f.ex if durring the LCI part we discover that the production will release 1000 tonnes of CO2 the LCIA part translates that to how many lost livelyhoods and lives that repersents statistically. This us usually calculated by a multiplying by a characterization factor so that results can be compared
