Explorers are prohibited from performing or engaging in any of the following activities:

A

a. Explorers shall not participate in making on-duty arrests.
b. Explorers shall not enter any jail facility or evidence locker unless ordered to do so by the explorer post advisor or supervisory personnel.
c. Explorers shall not have any contact with in-custody prisoners, suspects, or witnesses.
d. Explorers shall not handle evidence.
e. Explorers shall not enter confidential departmental files.
f. Explorers shall not enter non-confidential departmental files unless specifically directed to do so by departmental personnel.
g. Explorers are not allowed to engage in activities which involve operating an MIS/MDC terminal without the required CLETS/CJIS training and prior approval of the Area commander.
h. Explorers shall not be used for surveillance of criminal activity in undercover vehicles, or to purchase illegal drugs, firearms, alcohol, car parts, or illegal/stolen merchandise.
