Exploration Flashcards

Q

What was the reason for exploration?

A

Countries set out for G (Gold), G (God), G (Glory). Gold: Countries were interested in the resources and valuables of the New World, gold being the main thing, but they wanted anything they could make a profit off of. God: Countries sent out missions to convert Native Americans and anyone they came across to Christianity. Glory: Countries believed that whoever had the most land had the most power and success. A drive to conquer and settle the New World led to competition between countries.
