Exploiting Vulnerabilities Flashcards
Exploiting Vulnerabilities
Identify and use the character’s fears, insecurities, or desires to influence their behavior. This could involve preying on their need for approval or fear of failure.
Gradual Changes
Introduce small, seemingly benign requests that gradually escalate over time. This method can subtly shift the character’s boundaries without them noticing the extent of the manipulation.
Playing on Emotions
Use emotional appeals to create a sense of obligation or guilt. For instance, make the character feel that their actions are crucial for the happiness or well-being of someone else.
Offering Rewards
Create incentives or rewards for compliance. This could involve promising future benefits or portraying compliance as a way to achieve their goals.
Isolating
Gradually distance the character from their support network, making them more dependent on the manipulator. This isolation can make them more susceptible to influence.
Creating Dependency
Make the character feel that their success or happiness relies solely on the manipulator. This can involve presenting yourself as indispensable to their goals.
Undermining Confidence
Subtly question or undermine the character’s confidence in their own judgment or abilities, making them more reliant on your guidance.
