Q

what is the time and spatial refferencing of episodic and semantic

A

episodic - dependant on it, stored with time and place they occured, subjective quality, have to think back

semantic - not stored with it, recalled without refferencing, input in fragmented way, piece info together learnt at different points

Q

what is the interdependance of each store

Q

what is the retriaval and forggeting of each store

A

episodic - only possible if encoded and stored and dependant on context as it aids, retrieval changes memory stored

semantic - not dependant on context, recall based on inferences, less vulnerable to distortion

Q

evaluate explanation of LTM

A

+ KC could remeber facts but not personal event before accident, different LTM stores
- case studies cant be generalised to target population, may be affected by other variables only relevant to individual, KC not documented before accident
+ baddeley found LTM encodes semantically and STM encodes acoustically
- may not be possible to study seperatley as episodic relies on semantic, lacks validity
+ godden and badeley sound divers recalled better when learning in same context, acts as a cue for episodic
+ EWT should be brought to scene
