Q

what are the strengths of the contemporary study

A

+ large sample of 570, more generalisable to other spanish students
+ excluded people with hearing, reading or language impairmwnta, increase validity, only language having an effect
+ ecological validity, carried out at lunch at school, natural environment where you learn
+ welsh had lower digit span than english because it takes longer to pronounce words, supports findings

Q

what are the weaknesses of the contemporary study

A
  • only 9 ftFTD ppts, cant generalise to people with that type of dementia to other people with ftFTD
  • lack of mundame realism, dont learn numbers, use phonological loop to have conversation and read complex info
