Adulte male ketamine 450 mg im
Advanced life support actions/ considerations # 2
Adult female ketamine 350 mg im
What is the first line therapy ?
Ketamine and there are no absolute contraindications
When giving ketamine what should you be prepared for ?
Hypoventilation with progresive airway ventilation oxygenation managment
Advanced life support actions/ considerations # 3
give fluids 10 ml kg iv io as neaded
Pedi 20 ml kg as needed
what is second line therapy for metabolic acidos managment?
fluids
Advanced life support actions/ considerations # 4
For dissociation emergence- unlikely and rare: give
- adult male 250 mg im
- adult female 200 mg im
Dissociation emergence is given when
5-10 min after initial dose for inadequate dissociation
what should you consider when giving emergence dose of ketamine besides time
where you give it, go to seperate muscle group
emergence dose does not deepen sedation, it….
only prolongs duration of action
