Outer layer of Integument. Consists of 4- 5 Strata. Made of Stratified Squamous Epithelium.

Most visible organ system. The skin. Protective barrier against abrasion and evaporative water loss. When exposed to sunlight, manufactures vitamin D3.

Define Stratum Lucidum??
A
In epidermis. Extra layer found in thick skin of feet and hands.

Define Keratinocytes??
A
Cells that make up about 90% of Epidermis. 15-30 days to migrate to surface. Synthesize and accumulate keratin, thus forming surface the die.
