Example Emergencey Briefing Flashcards
(FO) N.o.1
FO) “Below 100 KTS you will call “STOP” for any relevant reason. Between 100 KTS and approaching V1, you will call “STOP” in the event of any ECAM warning, caution of the ENG or F/CTL system, loss of ENG THR or any indication that the aircraft will not fly safely.
If the call is stop, you will…
(Capt) N.o.1
(Capt.) “I will call “STOP” while simultaneously closing thrust levers, applying Max Reverse, and verifying auto-brake operation or apply Max Braking. When the aircraft has come to a complete stop, I will stow reversers, set and confirm the Parking brake is ON, and make a PA “ATTENTION CREW! AT STATIONS”. I will then call for “MY RADIOS, ECAM ACTIONS” and / or appropriate checklist. I will not attempt to vacate the runway until I am certain that an evacuation is NOT REQUIRED and it is safe to do so.”
(FO) N.o.2
(FO) “I will: Cancel any Aural Warning, Confirm reverser deployment, Monitor A/brake operation and deceleration, call 70kts and locate the Emergency Evacuation checklist.”
When the aircraft has stopped, I will advise ATC
“Do you have any questions with the stopping actions?”
Both N.o.1
“After V1 the take-off will continue. If it’s an engine problem, you will call ‘Eng Failure / Fire’, NOT identifying which engine, and ‘Rotate’ at VR. I’ll rotate towards 12.5, you will call ‘Positive climb’ and I’ll call ‘Gear Up’.
Once the a/c is under control and, at a min. of 400ft aal, I’ll say ‘ECAM Actions’. You will then carry out the ECAM actions with me monitoring you and confirming the necessary actions.
Both N.o. 2
We will accelerate at ____ (1,500 ft aal). I will call ‘VS zero’, accelerate and retract the flaps on schedule. As the speed approaches Green Dot, I will call ‘Pull ALT’ and set MCT.
Once the Engine is secure we will prioritise the flying of the aircraft and complete the ECAM as workload permits.
We will climb straight ahead (follow the EOSID) to an altitude of ____ and having dealt with the failure we will return to _______ (weather and performance permitting).”
