What is pruritis?
Itchy
What is a macule?
flat (non-palpable) area of skin colour change
What is a papule?
small palpable mass less than 0.5cm diameter, usually dome shaped
What is a nodule?
a dome shaped lesion or lump which has enlarged in length, width and depth to a diameter greater than 0.5cm
What is scale?
visible white loosening of outermost part of skin
What is crust?
a golden deposit on the skin surface due to dried plasma
What is a weal?
smooth surfaced dermal swellings
What is a vesicle?
small (<0.5cm) papules filled with clear fluid
What a pustule?
a visible accumulation
What is a bulla?
a blister larger than 0.5 cm
What is an erosion?
partial loss of surface epithelium
What is an ulcer?
complete loss of surface epithelium
What is an excoriation?
break in the skin due to scratching
What is lichenification?
thickening of the skin with increased skin markings due to chronic scratching/rubbing
