what is GRASP analysis?
A
G- genre
R- register - the tone of the piece, e.g, formal, colloquial, ironic
A- audience - the ‘intended reader’ - relating to social ideas and norms
S- subject - what the text is about (surface level) and then what it is really about (deep level- e.g ideological focuses, etc)
P- purpose - general purpose of communication e.g, to entertain, to persuade
