Endotracheal tube inner diameter paeds formula?
(for all children >1 year) =
(Age/4) + 4 mm
(for Croup or subglottic stenosis use 0.5 to 1 size smaller than above)
Endotracheal tube length at lip - paeds?
12 + (age/2) (cm)
Endotracheal tube length at nostril - paeds?
15 + age/2 (cm)
What is seen on HOCM ECG?
Signs of LV hypertrophy: left axis deviation, big R waves etc.
? Inverted T waves
What is seen on ARM ECG?
Epstein waves
Confirm HOCM on echo
Greater than 15 mm in or more segments, non-dilatory.
MOI magnesium?
Prevents calcium entry into cells -> preventing early after depolarisation -> reduces time for R on T phenomenon in torsades des points
How do you work out the QTc interval?
QTc = QT/root(RxR)
If bradycardia either has no adverse signs associated or resolves, what do you look for when assessing whether pacing is required?
Are they at risk or entering into asystole?
- Complete heart block with broad QRS
- Mobitz type II AV block
- Recent asystole
- Ventricular pause over 3 seconds.

End tidal CO2 - normal range?
4-5.7 kPa or
35-40mmHg
ROSC - Utstein definition?
Greater than 60 mmHg for more than 10 minutes
