The complete control over everyone and everything kings in England had before the magma carta

The act of ruling a kingdom without help or adivise

The institution that represents Englands people in charge of debating and making/changing laws

A time when a countries population grows quickly due to high birth rate, low death rate of immigration

The movement of people from the country to the city due to job opportunities and better quality of life

Materials that’s re harvested directly from the source/ground

A product that is made in a factory

The main source of power during the Industrial Revolution usually made by burning coal
Colony
A country that is under the control of a coloniser
Empire
A group of territories rules by one leader usually with many vice leaders

A material that is considered valuable for a certain purpose
Exploitation
The use of someone or something unfairly for personal gain
Missionary
People whose job it is to spread christianity to the rest of the world
Sepoy
An Indian soldier that fought for the British
British raj
Period between 1858 and 1947 when India was ruled directly by Britain because of the sepoy rebellion
Viceroy
The person who ruled over India on behalf of the king or queen
Scramble for Africa
Period of time I’m the late 19th century when European countries rushed to get as much of Africa as possible

Period of mass starvation from 2845 to 1852 due to a disease in the potato crop
Emigration
When people leave a country for another, usually as a result of a large scale event

The belief that white Europeans are superior to other races
Eugenics
The practice of improving the human race by keeping races pure and preventing different races from breeding

Large scale farms in the Carribean and American colonies where slaves were used to farm cotton, tobacco etc
Middle passage
The part of the slave triangle connecting Africa to the Americas where up to 400 slaves were on a ship at a time
