exam preperation Flashcards
what is nervous system?
It is they system which receives stimulus and sends it to other parts of the body by means of impulses with their corresponding result.
What is spinal arc
Spinal arc is the route taken by impulses from receptors to effectors during involuntary action
WHAT IS CEREBROSPINAL FLUID?
CEREBROSPINAL FLUID IS THE FLUID THAT PROTECTS BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD FORM SUDDEN JERKS.
role of kidney in excretory system
kidney filtrates bloods and excrete the unnecessary substance in form of urine
Function of collenchyma
1.It supports plasticity and elasticity
2. It consists of chlorophyll which help in photosynthesis.
3. It reduces the tearing effect of wind on the leaves.
function of phloem
To transport food from leaves to the different part of the plants.
What is ganglia
Ganglia are the nervous tissues outside the central nervous system.
Which hormone is responsible for the balance of calcium level in bone
Parathormone is responsible for balance of calcium in bone
which hormone is responsible for the maintenance of sugar in blood
Insulin is responsible for the maintenance of sugar in the blood
function of parasympathetic autonomous nervous system
To maintain the blood pressure and heart beat after the emergency is over
hypo and hyper secretion of parathormone
hyposecretion- Tetany
hypersecretion- formation of stones in kidney and tumor
what is ecosystem?
Ecosystem is the ecological unit which consists of both biotic and abiotic components of the enviroment
Define decomposer
Decomposers are the organisms tha break down complex organic matters into simpler substance.
What is food web?
Food web is a network of food chains interconnected at different trophic levels.
example of symbiosis
- Bee and flower.
- Lichens: algae and fungus
what is force?
Force is a pull or push that changes or tends to change the position of the body from motion to rest or rest to motion
State newton’s first law of motion
Newton first law of motion states that “Everybody continuous to be in the state of rest or motion in a straight line unless an external force is applied on it
What is retardation?
It is defined as decrement in velocity per unit time. Negative acceleration is called retardation
state newton’s second law of motion
Newton second law stats that “Acceleration of a body is directly proportional to the force applied and inversely proportional to the mass of the body”
State newton’s third law of motion
Newton’s third law of motion states that “Every action has equal but negative reaction”
Define balanced force
When number of forces acting on a body doesnot change the position of the body then the body is said to have balanced force. The applied force and opposing force is equal in balanced force.
Define inertia of rest
It is the property of a body by virtue of which it remains or tends to remain in the state of rest unless an external force is applied on it.
Define inertia of motion
It is the property of a body by virtue of which it remains or tends to remains in the state of motion in a straight line unless an external force is applied on it
Define elasticity
It is the property of a solid by virtue of which it changes back to its form after the removal of external force
Define plasticity
It is the property of body by virtue of which it remains its deformed shape even after the removal of external force.
What is motion? Give example
Motion is the state of body in which it is changing position with respect to a reference point.
for example : Lets take a tree as a reference point and car as a object, the car is said to be in motion if it changes it’s position with respect to the tree.
difference between action and reaction
action.
1. It is the process of taking or performing steps to get a desired outcome.
2. It can be initiated at any time by the actor.
eg : cooking, driving
reaction
1. It is the result or outcome of an actin
2. It only occurs after an action.
eg : braking the car in the response of traffic light.
