When donning your gown pay particular attention to:
- The fold of the gown & how it is oriented
- Nearby O.R furniture
- The sterile area of the gown
What are proven reasons to double glove?
- Decrease contracted from puncture
- It significantly reduces the amount of blood contamination of the hands
- Fat is known to degrade fat
What steps should be taken to close the sterile gown?
- Remain facing the sterile field
- Secure the tag in the right hand & the gown tie in the left hand
- Separate the two before turning
When gowning someone else, the outside of the gown is?
Opened towards you
When removing your gown and gloves at the end of a case you?
- First remover your gown
2. then your gloves by turning them inside out as you remove them
