Clergy sued over the Two-Penny act. Lasted five years. Was argued by Patrick Henry.

Established to communicate with assemblies of other colonies. Kept issues alive with a constant circulation of news and ideas.

Laws imposing taxes on colonists. Special taxes on lead, paint, paper, glass, and tea imported by colonists.
Quebec Act
Gave the Ohio county and much of Great Lake region to Quebec. Catholicism could be openly practiced, French law that did not provide trial by hurt in place, no elected assembly

Written by Thomas Jefferson. Direct/heated response to Coercive Acts. Railing against closing of British port, interference of free trade, suspension of trial by jury. Declared his independence form Britain. Parliament has no right to legislate colonies.

System created by 1st continental congress in 1774 for implementing trade boycott with Britian.
