Business case

Zero-based budgeting (ZBB)
“bottom- up” budgeting request money as they discover the things that will help the WHPP.
Resisters
High risk employees that rarely (5%) participate in WHPP, Have little interest in personal health until a landmark event (e.g. major crisis) has occurred. require more creativity and promotion.
Promotion
One of the 4 P’s to marketing, Focuses on tools and techniques used to reach the target population
Should reach as many employees as possible
Promotion tools include; Posters, Email, Paycheck stuffers, Company website postings, and Weekly safety meetings
Top-Down budgeting
Amount of money is set and WHPP must decide where to allocate the money.
Risk and Liability
Anytime an employee participates in WHPPs the worksite can be held liable for any injury/incident. Worksites should take precautionary measures to minimize risk. There are several ways to do this, including making sure worker comp. covers them, having them sign waivers, or screening employees to find high risk factors– and you should do as many as possible
Product
One of the 4 P’s in marketing. Product is health promotion but it doesn’t sell itself as much as you think it would. What precisely is your service? what is the time commitment? what can they gain from your service? and why is your offer better than commercial ones?
Price
one of the 4 P’s of marketing. can be 100% employer paid or 100% employee paid or most likely somewhere in between. employee must see value in it or they will not participate. take into consideration time, location, special clothing or equipment.
Transtheoretical model (TTM)
Stages of change model. includes Five levels:

Action
Maintenance
employees can be anywhere throughout these levels.
Integrated framework
Human resources. Three categories health promotion, medical and benefits. Health promotion covers; exercise programs, seminars and communications. Medical handles screenings, employee assistance programs, safety and workers comp. Benefits deals with education and cost awareness.
Placement
one of the 4 P’s. When should it start? should a particular group be targeted? or cafeteria style where it is pick and choose.
Incentives
Get them in the door, make it more enticing, includes gift cards, raffles, money, swag, memberships, and discounts.
