- Know your subject: easier time to give speech about things you know, rehearse speech, do icebreak speech about yourself
- know your audience and space: know who and where-> can create limitations, language differences (college vs kids), how they will experiece your speech, make sure you have space on stage, know the apps you will use for online speech, facualty knows you need media
- Keep going: do not say sorry, for example skipping words. Takes away from speech and focus on mistake
- Imagine yourself giving a great speech: Visualize-> words and body language that emotionally connects you with audience, it will make you relax

- Know your material: choose a subject what is familar, topic that you are passinate
- Be converational: help you engage with audience
- Practice: Rehearse out loud, do it standing, blue notecard (less obvious), allows you hear pace, tone and filler tone, know speech backwards and fowards
- Know the room and media: factors into your speech and allows you to prepare, rehearase in presenter mode
- Never apologize: weakens your creditablity, always have a back up plan
