Cholelithiasis manifestations
usually asymptomatic
epigastric and right quadrant pain
intolerance to fatty foods
jaundice
why epigastric and right quadrant pain
lodged in cystic or common bile duct
vague symptoms of Cholelithiasis 4
heartburn, flatulence, epigastric discomfort, food intolerances (fat and cabbage)
what is biliary colic
intermittent pain that radiates to the back
occurs 30 minutes to several hours after eating fatty meal
severity of Cholelithiasis depends on
movement of stones
obstruction
why jaundice
bile cannot flow into duodenum
why dark amber urine that foams when shaken
soluble bilirubin in urine
why clay colored stools
bilirubin does not reach small intestine to be converted into urobilinogen
why steatorrhea
no bile salts in duodenum preventing fat digestion
