Q

Sulci (grooves)

A
  • atrioventricular (RCA, LCA, circumflex A, coronary sinus)
  • anterior interventricular (LADA, great cardiac vein)
  • posterior interventricular (post. Descending a, middle cardiac v)
  • coated with fat…contain coronary arteries

Q

Coronary circulation

A
  • blood moves too fast through heart to give off nutrients directly….hence its own circulation
  • start with two main coronary arteries (Perfuses when aortic valve is closed…not when open during systole)

Q

Right Coronary artery

A
  • supplies right side of heart
  • originates from right aortic sinus of valsalva
  • runs along right atrioventricular sulcus
  • Branches into: -R atrial branches
    - Post. Desc. Artery
    - R marginal branches (acute marginals)

Q

Left Coronary Artery

A
  • shorter than RCA (but distributes to larger area)
  • arises from Aorta
  • branches into: - LAD a (branches off that are called diagonals)
    - L circumflex
    - Left marginal branches (obtuse marginals)

Q

Coronary dominance

A
  • determined by which coronary artery gives rise to PDA

- most of time it is right (67%) but can be left (15%)

16
Q

Cardiac sinus

A
  • Big heart vein
  • common place for cardioplegia
  • dumps directly into RA
17
Q

Small cardiac vein

A
  • run with marginal arteries
18
Q

Anterior cardiac veins

A
  • dump right into RA
