Assessments that shall be deferred if…
A
- chest pain ( with or w/o PA)
- unexplained loss of consciousness
- loss of balance due to dizziness
- recent injury resulting in bone, joint or muscle problems that may be exacerbated by exercise
- prescribed drug that inhibits PA
- chronic infectious disease (hepatitis)
- pregnancy
- other reason the particpant believes that he or she should not be PA

what pre evaluation procedures shall be conducted for all personnel prior to fitness assessment
A
- needs to be medically cleared in the last 12 months
- needs to do a par-q or health history
- HR ↑ than 110 bpm at rest
- BP ↑ 160/100mmhg at rest
- rest of 5 min and retake
- – if the same then cancel the fitness evaluation

When should you STOP the test
A
- onset of angina or symptoms
- signs of poor perfusion: light- headedness, confusion, ataxia, poor pallor, cyanosis, nausea, or cold, clammy skin
- failure of heart rate in increase with increase in exercise intensity
- participant requests evaluation to stop
- physical or verbal manifestations of severe fatigue
- joint or muscle pain that becomes aggravated with exercise
- failure of the testing equipment
