What are examples of self-regulation goals?
Demonstrate availability to learn and interact, regulate emotion during new situations, recover from dysregulation
What are examples of mutual regulation goals?
Sharing/expressing emotions with others, respond to assistance offered by others, respond to feedback and guidance regarding behavior, requesting others’ assistance to regulate emotional stage
What are the SAP priorities?
Social communicative competence and active engagement, understanding the nature of ASD, planning within routines, monitoring progress
Stage before words. Social stimuli may not be intrinsically rewarding, gestural communication is often delayed, spontaneous non-verbal communication
Social partner stage
Stage of emerging language; combining people’s names, verbs, and nouns to share intentions
Language partner stage
Stage of conversational speech; building self-efficacy and social conventions
Conversational partner stage
