moisten the swab on both sides by inserting into the mouth and scraping/rubbing against the gums and under the tongue. Once the sponge is wet, vigorously swab the inside cheek are of the mouth, use of opposite side to swab the inside of the other cheek.

35
Q

What is the collection of a pseudo known?

A

When there is not enough evidence to collect a reference sample from a suspect. However, an investigator can submit an item that a suspect had used an items such as a cigarette, water bottle, straw.

Top/foot of bedding and circle any wet stains

40
Q

Why should you not place controlled substances such as marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, or other synthetic cannabinoids in plastic packaging material?

A

The leaves from the plants contain moisture and will lead to decomposition and fungal growth

41
Q

If you seize of potted plant, should you submit the whole plant or leaf?

A

just a leaf

42
Q

If a tea leaf or marijuana leaf is believed to be charred and coated with PCP, how should you package it?

Q

What can be submitted to NIBIN (national integrated ballistic information network).

A

cartridge casings. bullets and revolver caliber cartridges are not entered or search in NIBIN

48
Q

Can you obtain a latent print or DNA profile from a fired cartridge?

A

Only if it had been handled post shooting, the high heat produced when the weapon is fired will prevent that type of evidence from being gathered.

49
Q

What type of marks on a cartridge casing can be compared from the the evidence weapons?

A

55
Q

Prior to lifting a latent print, what should you do? What should you draw to indicate up and what should attach it to?
