Q

evangelism in the nineteenth century

A

-Evangelism continued throughout the succeeding centuries but took on a new dimension when powerful European nations created empires, creating colonies in the Americas, Africa and Asia.

-In nineteenth century Britain, there were a number of societies who sent out trained missionaries to these colonies to convert those who lived there. These missionaries learned the language of the people and lived among them, teaching them about Christianity and also providing medical care and education.
