• lots of practical applications have been gained from the study to help children with phobias and anxiety’s
• By listening to children’s anxiety’s and psychoanalyzing their dreams and fantasies they can be helped to overcome them

It was very in depth and so could be considered valid providing lots of qualitative data

Weakness regarding 1 person?

• It was only as study of one individual so we have to be careful generalizing the findings . We had no way of assessing how typical little Hans was so this study could have been unique to Han’s and his father
• For example very few boys can talk so intimately with their fathers

Weakness regarding subjectivity?

it is very subjective with the descriptions as it is Freud’s interpretations of the fathers interpretations

• Also the father was a great supporter and friend of Freud so could have told him what he wanted by bending the truth a little
• The dreams and fantasy’s may be interpreted differently by other psychologists
