WHO vs CDC growth charts
WHO: 0-2 y/o
CDC: 2-18 y/o
CA>BA=HA with normal GV
1st pattern
probably a constitutional delay of growth
- fhx of later bloomers
-normal physical exam and CBC, ESR with this diagnosis
-weight appropriate for height
CA>BA=HA with abnormal GV
2nd pattern
same as first pattern but more concerning
-isolated GH def
-weight usually low for height
-positive review of systems
CA=BA>HA with normal gv
3rd pattern
-indicative of genetic short stature or Small for gestational age
-weight appropriate or low for height
-possible relevant prenatal or birth hx
CA= BA> HA with abnormal gv
4th pattern
-indicative of chromosomal or syndrome related dx (such as turners)
-wt usually heavier than appropriate
- possible abnormal PE
-would need to order a BA survey- skeletal survey to check for short stature
