Asch showed evidence for NSI because people changed their answers to fit in with the group, giving the wrong answer even when the right answer was obvious. He also showed ISI because when the answer became more difficult conformity increased.

In the real world it is more complex. Other factors play a part such as social support. It is also difficult to separate NSI and ISI as they often work together.
