What is a Lysosome?
A membrane bound organelle that contains digestive enzymes
What is Rough ER (Rough endoplasmic reticulum)?
A system of membrane bound flattened sacs that are covered with ribosomes
What happens in a Rough ER?
Proteins enter the Rough ER where they are folded and pressed. They get transported to the Golgi Apparatus.
What is the Golgi Apparatus?
A group of fluid filled membranes bound flattened sacs formed by the fusion of vesicles from the ER.
What happens at the Golgi Apparatus?
The Golgi Apparatus further processes the proteins.
What is the Smooth ER?
A system if membrane bound sacs without ribosomes.
What is a Cristae?
The inner fold in mitochondria
What is a Centriole?
Small hollow cylinders made of microtubules.
What is Chitin?
Component of cell walls in fungi
What is the nuclear pore?
The small holes in a nucleus
