Describe what makes someone a medium risk in a risk assessment
They are capable of serious harm but have enough protective factors to prevent it - however protective factors can change and increase risk = need to enquire about sustainability of the person’s protective factors
What makes someone high risk ?
Eminent danger of comitting serious harm or actions that will likely result in serious harm - person has little to no protective factors + low to no insight into own mental health.
3 types of risk factors
Static : history for ex
Dynamic : drug use, mental health
Acute: Intoxication for ex
What do we need to know as part of the risk assessment?
Need to assess their past, current mental health, social and economical factors, illnesses, protective factors

Making a sound judgement by weighting potential harms and potential benefits to the client
