1.) Act with honesty, integrity and comply with their professional obligations, including obligations to RICS

What is the G+S Complaint handling Procedure (CHP)

A

3 Stage process.
1.) Speak to the local office the complaint relates to
2.) Complaint in writing, firm to acknowledge within 7 days and respond within 28 days
3.) Unable to resolve complaint, opportunity to take the complaint to independent redress provider as approved by RICS Regulated board

Explain the further steps within a dispute where it may go to the RICS (DRS) Dispute Resolution Service

A

1.) Arbitration- independent third party looks in to it/ acts as judge

2.) Conciliation- use a conciliator who meets with both parties separately and together in an attempt to resolve the differences

3.) Mediation-Third party comes in to reach a settlement both parties can live with

4.) Adjudication- quick decision within 28 days. Decided by independent adjudicator

A

Party, Own Interest, Confidential Information conflict

Party conflict- Acting in the interest of a client or another party conflicts with client or other party

Own Interest conflict- conflicts with RICS member or firm

Confidential information conflicts- conflict between RICS member to keep information confidential between them
