Q

what is the geometric proportion of distributive justice?

A

A:B = C:D (must maintain this ratio)

A:B = relative merit of two people

C:D = relative good of two people

e.g.
A = Kevin’s merit
B = Byron’s merit
C = Kevin’s goods
D = Byron’s goods

Q

what is rectifactory/corrective justice?

A
  • negotiation among 2 individuals or with a judge/mediator
  • has to be of equal relative value
  • NOT eye for an eye → both worse off than where you started (both down by 1)
  • unjust distribution can exist even if you didn’t cause the imbalance

e.g. trade $10 water bottle for $10 pen
e.g. trade water bottle for another water bottle

Q

A
  • start over (redistribute from a base level)
  • redistribute one by one
