what is de anima (“of soul”)?

A
  • Aristotle’s assumption that souls are substances in the sense of form
  • form = actuality = soul

process of elimination:
* Body is matter → ∴ soul ≠ matter
* Hylomorphic compound (living thing) = matter (body) + form (___)
