Explain beneficence
A
- Consideration of benefits/ gains from research in relation to risks

- Idea that any harm should not be proportionate to gains from research (do no harm)

- Commitment to search for knowledge & honestly report findings

A
- Distribution of fair access of benefits of research to everyone

- Belief that everyone has value in regards to their welfare and beliefs → Right to make own decisions

What are the 6 ethical guidelines?
A
- Voluntary Participation → Willingly and freely sign to be involved
- Informed Consent → Understand nature & purpose of study + Associated risks (Requires the most specificity)
- Withdrawl Rights → Leave experiment at any time/ remove results
- Debriefing → Informed of research aims, results and conclusions + Provided with psychological support post research
- Deception → Not informed of purpose if by doing so it affects the experiment (must be followed by thorough debriefing)
- Confidentiality → Right for privacy and protection - Security of results maintained
