What is generally assessed on the 10-marker?
A
- Identification and explanation of formal psychological terminology relevant to the question
- Use of appropriate psychology terminology
- Discussion of relevant psychological information, ideas, concepts, theories and/or models and the connections between them
- Analysis and evaluation of data, methods and scientific models
- Drawing evidence-based conclusions and explaining limitations of conclusions

How should the 10-marker response be structured?
A
- Use paragraphs and subheadings
- Sections in question can act as prompts for what the subheadings are

Underline/highlight key terms
- Also explain any models or concepts used such as BLT → Do not assume they know what it is!
- Write in prose → Continuous sentences
- Dot points in response are usually not awarded high marks
- Ensure that you are properly linking to the scenario, situation or research study
- Embed information by quoting phrases or key terms (similar to English)
- Specificity → Not simply just saying the name of the person in a scenario
NOT an essay, more of an extended short answer

What does holistic marking mean?
A
- Assessors give a mark after considering the response as a whole
- Clarity & organisation
- Accuracy and depth of psychological concepts and key terms intergrated into response
- Effective application and linking of psychological concepts to scenario
- Accuracy and depth with which the key elements of the question (command terms) were addressed
- Responses that do not address all parts of the question can only receive below 5 marks
- A ‘passing’ mark of 5 can only be given to students who briefly discuss all parts of the question
