What is situation ethics?
Situation ethics was a book and theory written by American professor Joseph fletcher in 1966 . It follows the belief that decisions should be made on the basis of love and not on rules. We should respond in the most loving way.
What is Deontological ethics? Name an example of a famous deontologist.
Deontology is when people have a system of moral laws which they hold and apply to a given situation. They follow absolute morality. A famous deontologist is Immanuel Kant who argued a decision is always right or wrong, not the outcome of that decision.
What is utilitarianism?
Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill devised this system. Their belief is that the decision should be made for the greatest good of the greatest number. Therefore, we should make decisions which affect the most people for the better.
In the bible, what is the ‘golden rule’?
Treat others as you would like to be treated.
What is the set of rules of the bible which dictate behaviour of Christians?
