In genesis 3 Adam and Eve committed the first original sin. Since then, all people have been born with a tendency to sin.

Why do some people reject the idea of god?

They think god can’t exist because there is so much suffering in the world. Epicurus highlighted this. If god cannot stop evil he is not all powerful. If god can stop evil but chooses not to, god is not good. If he could stop evil and chooses to, why is there evidence of evil? God can’t exist.
