the individual has the right to make decisions about his or her own care

A
relates to the distribution of limited resources - example: if you have to choose between two patients, who will get the care, the decision should be made on what is best of most just and not about personal bias

A
performing actions that are the for purpose of benefitting another person - any procedure or treatment should be done with the ultimate goal of benefitting the patient, any action not beneficial should not be reconsidered
