- Lambert Simnel pretended to be the Earl of Warwick on the Earl of Lincoln’s (Pole) commands
- Henry responded by exhibiting the real earl of Warwick
- Lincoln persuaded M of B to pay mercenaries to invade England
- Yorkists very reluctant to join in

What was the Battle of Stoke Field - 1487
A
- Earl of Lincoln killed in the battle during an easy victory for Henry
- This was seen as the end of the Wars of the Roses however Henry’s position was still not safe
- As a result developed bonds y recognisances

A
- In 1491 Warbeck impersonated Richard, Duke of York
- Made worse as Lord Stanley was a co conspirator, showed the vulnerability of Henry
