A

postural tremor- worse if arms outstretched

improved by alcohol and rest

most common cause of head tremors

gradual onset

What is management for essential tremor

A

propranolol - unless contraindicated by beta blockers

reduce caffeine intake

primidone sometimes used

What is most important investigation to do

A

Blood tests just to ensure that there are no other medical causes of the tremor

history and examination is usually enough to diagnose an essential tremor
