erwin schrodinger Flashcards
identifies the objective of the problem
Goals / expected outcomes
Broad statement of purpose which uses abstract and non measurable concept
General objectives
usually a restatement of your research title
General objectives
Well defined & measurable
Specific Objectives
Describe phenomena/ characteristics
Descriptive
Significant difference comparison among group
Comparative
Significant relationship and how variables are related
Relational
Problem being addressed (ang 5)
- Issue a general statement of the question or examining
- The problem must be backed with facts
- Keep this section short, 1 to 2 pages is enough
- Introduce your treatment and specify the property of your treatment
- Add motivation
The formulation of the study hypothesis is based on study objective
Hypothesis
Statement about expected relationship between two or more variables
Hypothesis
Described as intelligent guess and it’s veracity that it is whether
Hypothesis
A statement of denial relationship
Null hypothesis
Formal affirmative statement predicting a single research outcome
Alternative hypothesis
P- value > 0.05
Null hypothesis
P- value < 0.05
Alternative hypothesis
Principle of research design
Replication, randomization and local control
Repitition of experiments to ensure the reliability of results. It helps in invalidating findings by testing under similar conditions multiple times
Replication
Process of randomly assigning subjects or units to different groups. It reduces bias and helps achieving equivalent groups.
Randomization
Involves managing experimental conditions to minimize the impact stareous factors. It enhances the precision of experiments by controlling local variations.
Local control
A systemic plan to test a hypothesis by controlling variables
Experimental design
Subjects are randomly assigned to treatment groups without blocking. Simple to conduct and random assignment to treatment
CRD (completely randomised design)
Subjects are divided into blocks based on certain characteristics then randomized, blocking to control variability, random assignments with blocks
RCBD (Randomized Complete Block Design)
